Volunteer Opportunities

We have a variety of roles available, so there’s something for everyone. Some ways you can get involved include:

Worship & Service Support

  • Music Ministry – Share your musical talents during services and special events.

  • Readers & Intercessors – Assist in leading prayers and scripture readings.

  • Welcomers – Help create a warm and inviting environment for worshippers.

  • Maintaining our beautiful church - Weekly cleaning, brass cleaning and winding the clock.

Community Outreach & Care

  • Pastoral Care Team – Provide emotional and spiritual support to those in need.

  • Visitation Ministry – Visit and support elderly or housebound members of our community.

Church Events & Activities

  • Hospitality & Catering – Assist with preparing and serving food for church events.

  • Events – Join our events team. Help organise and coordinate church gatherings and celebrations.

  • Fundraising & Charity Work – Support fundraising efforts to sustain church programmes.

  • Churchyard upkeep - Join our team.

Children & Youth Ministry

  • Children's Group Helpers – Teach or assist with children’s faith-based activities.

How to Get Involved

We welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you have an hour to spare or can commit to a regular schedule, your help is appreciated.

Steps to Join:

  1. Contact Us – Reach out to our volunteer coordinator by email at volunteer@stmarkswyke.org.uk or speak to a church leader after a service.

  2. Complete a Volunteer Form – Fill out a brief form to let us know your interests and availability.

  3. Attend an Orientation – Learn more about your role, meet fellow volunteers, and receive training if necessary.
